On the eighteenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me – A Dream Come True

Dream

Today, a dream came true. Candy Canes & Coffee Beans, a story that still makes my heart smile when I think of it, has been released! Finally, I get to introduce Asher, Uncle Killy, and Sawyer to the world (or at least a handful of readers).

Believe it or not, today’s post is the hardest one out of the eighteen I’ve done so far. When I created my list for the Eighteen Days of Christmas, I figured this one would be the quick “look my book is here” one. What’s there to think about, right? But my mind is all over the place at the moment, and I’m not really sure what to say.

Unlike Asher, it’s taken me a while to figure what I could do or become to make me happy. Well, other than being a wife and mother. Those two things have been my life for the last seventeen years. The minion has reached that point, however, that being “mom” is more about being on stand-by than when he was younger. Hell, I don’t even need to nag him about homework anymore. I suppose that means that I’ve done that job well. Of course I’m still a wife, but that’s not a full time job either. So I needed to find something to do with my time, my energy.

I’ve dabbled writing for the last few years, but it wasn’t until I started to create Asher’s world that something inside of me clicked…blossomed…insert whatever word you’d like. It just felt right. These incredible characters just seemed to create themselves, to the point that I had to hurry to keep up with them. They spoke on their own – it’s something I’ve heard authors describe, but never thought I’d actually experience – and decided where they wanted to go. I know I haven’t written Shakespeare, but their story is something that makes me happy and very proud.

I’m so excited (and utterly terrified) to share my first book with you all. I hope that it gives you the smiles, giggles, and heart clenches that it gave me as I wrote it. It’s a part of me, and parts of my life, that I’m honoured to share with you.

Until my next book all!

This is one of my favorite parts of my job, helping dreams come true. I’m glad for my little part in helping you realize your dream.
